To me it just smells like it came from a bee hive I read the reviews of it smelling. I bought it to make lube for shooting patches, so any slight odor is not my concern. I did go take a whiff to have an opinion. I then also took a whiff of some bees wax I bought at Michaels. The Natural Planet wax definitely has a distinctive smell where the Michaels has little to none. To me it just smells like it came from a bee hive. For candles, some folks may have a problem.
