I was delighted to find them again I first used Astra double-edge blades about 25 years age when I was living in what was still Czechoslovakia (where the blades were then made). I was delighted to find them again, and to see that the Russian-made blades are as good as I remember the Czech-made ones to have been. For my neck (which is prone to ingrown hairs and shaving bumps), these blades are just right. I get a close, even, irritation-free shave.
Excellent blades for the novice I’m new to shaving with DE razor. To start out, I got the Edwin Jagger DE98Lbl as that was the one that was most frequently recommended as a starter razor as it’s not particularly aggressive. It came with 5 Derby blades. My first effort resulted in heavy blood loss, and subsequent shaves were improvements but I was still getting nicks frequently. I did so more research and people were suggesting that the Astra blades were more forgiving that the Derbies, So I bought these and gave them a try…
