My nails have been known to puncture my skin and cause futher problems and this is a lot now gentler. It cleans out most of the gunk relatively easily once I have my pores opened up. I prefer to use it right after the shower when my pores are the most easily accessible. Overall a great purchase so I can stop my bad habit of popping my pimples.
