Good News and Bad News This is a very nice little all-in-one shaver and trimmer. I also use it to cut my hair. That’s the good news. I like it so much I’ve owned 3 in the last 18 months. That’s the bad news. The first one stopped taking a charge after about 6 weeks. The second one stopped taking a charge after about 9 months. So, it works well, the blades stay relatively sharp and it is inexpensive, but, you will likely not get a year out of it.
Serious Battery Design Flaw Causes Premature Failure Update: My unit was purchased a couple years ago now and is the model PG6020 and the listing has since been updated to a new unit. This was a NiCd unit powered by a 1.2V 600mAh battery (the battery pictured). I have been informed by more recent purchasers that some updates have been made to the current PG6025 version including the introduction of a higher voltage 3.2V Lithium battery and a different circuit board. I haven’t seen photos to confirm this though, so if someone has taken one apart…
