My issue with all previous razors is that my extremely hard water causes them to rust once they get the slightest nick in the finish. I try to be as careful as possible, but then the threads get the chrome worn away and it starts to rust there. I bought this partially because of the butterfly design hoping that there would be less chance for it to rust and whatnot. It’s only been a month but it shows no signs of rust or corrosion at all yet. I’ll update in the future.

Do yourself a favor and get it! I’ve been using safety razors for a little more than a year now. I consider myself intermediate shaver.

Great for the New DE Shaver! This is a fabulous razor for someone starting out with double-edge blade shaving, especially if they’re used to the old “smash and drag” method from years of using multi-blade cartridge razors. Why? Because this razor is VERY mild and VERY forgiving. While many people recommend the Merkurs for beginners, do yourself a favor and look into the blade gap on this one and the Merkurs.
