Soft and sweet This is my intro to Yardley’ s English Rose. If you love the English Lavender, this is softer and sweeter. The lavender holds a special place in my heart, makes me remember being a kid and great granny getting ready for church or a bus ride into the city to do some shopping at Wanamakers or Strawbrudges. Smells more like a chem lab than a rose garden. I remember Yardley of London fragrances as being pretty true to the flower they’re named for, but then, that was over forty years ago. This doesn’t smell like rose so much as a chemical fragrance based on rose. Sigh. But it’s talc, which is what I needed, and it will do the job.
Not what I expected This new version of English Rose powder, lotion, eau de toilette is not what I expected. I had bought Yardley of London English Rose powder, lotion and perfume before and loved the scent. However, I am extremely disappointed in this new version. The other scents/fragrances added to this new version of English rose spoiled the powder, lotion and perfume scents. They smell nothing like the original versions. There is no trace of the the English Rose scent in the products. The lotion makes…
